Nanango sits on the way through for a lot of people. Some of the work here is for locals who have had the same van for years, some of it is for travellers who found something wrong halfway through a trip. Either way it goes up on the hoist and gets looked at properly.

Horse floats
Floats take a beating on gravel and they carry something irreplaceable. Brakes, bearings, couplings, floors and lights all get looked at.

Work trailers
Plant and box trailers that earn their keep. Suspension, chassis, wiring and brake work so a trailer is not the thing that stops the job.

5th wheelers
Big rigs need room, a hoist and somebody who has been under plenty of them. There is space in the shed for the long ones.

Caravan work is the bread and butter, but the same shed does 4WDs, trucks and trailers, sells and repairs winches, and holds the approvals to sign off modifications.
Caravan roadworthy inspections
Done here at the workshop. This is an Approved Inspection Station, so the inspection and any work it turns up happen in the same shed.
Repairs
Faults tracked down and fixed. Reviews here mention everything from a dead indicator traced to the plug, through to a water leak hunted down and sorted.
Suspension upgrades
Suspension work for vans, trailers and 4WDs, and an authorised distributor for West Coast Suspension.
Chassis and structural work
Hanger and mount work underneath, welded and fitted on the hoist. The unglamorous work that decides whether a van is safe loaded up.
Weight distribution and airbags
Getting a van sitting and towing the way it should. One customer came in for exactly this and the airbags went in at the same time.
Diesel heaters
Fitted and repaired. Worth having working properly before a winter run down south.

4WD work and Exedy clutches

Plenty of workshops can do the work. Fewer can put their name to the paperwork afterwards. This one is an Approved Inspection Station and a Queensland Transport Approved Person for vehicle modifications, across both light and heavy vehicles.

The workshop

The business is run by Dave Metcalfe, and the shed on Knowles Street has been at this a long time. If you have driven past it you will know the one, the red sign on the dark shed with the phone number across the bottom of it.
It is not a franchise and there is no call centre. You ring the mobile on the sign and you get the bloke who will be doing the work. Reviews here tend to mention him by name, which tells you most of what you need to know about how it runs.
The same workshop also trades as Xtreme 4x4 Sport for 4WD work and as Comeup Winches Australia for winches. Same shed, same phone, same person.
